Trying something new for paid subscribers only. A different kind of storytelling. But I need you to tell me if you want more of this so reply back after you’ve read and let me know what you think. I don’t quite know what exactly it is, so I can’t wrap it in a bow with a title and description, but you’ll get it. I think it’s a rant though. But I’m hopeful it’s a useful rant—tell me if I’m wrong, I can handle it.
So, this came across my instagram feed on the weekend:
And it absolutely irritated me. Not the response, but the original tweet.
It stayed with me all day. How and when did billionaires get the idea that because they made a lot of money in a rigged system (capitalism) that they were suddenly authorities on all things? How? and when?
It got me thinking, what does it really take to become a billionaire and by the end of the day I had this recipe:

How to make a billionaire: Combine privilege, a dash of luck and the exploitation of employees, customers, and the planet to varying degrees; refuse to acknowledge the real recipe and insist hard work and being brilliant got you there. Push back against anything that threatens your position and convince workers they’re lucky to work for you for relative pennies.
